Running a business upside down?
We started our business for one reason, to help bring light to a seemingly dark industry. This is not me saying that mechanic shops are bad because they are not. But they do have a reputation and we wanted to try and help change that. We chose to do things opposite to what we experienced at our local mechanic shop (thats right, before Good News Auto we were customers at another shop.) They were great, we were happy, but we always felt like there was something missing.
When we brainstormed on how to start and run a shop, neither Kimberly or I had any experience at running a shop. We knew nothing about how to set up a shop or even where we would get a mechanic. We knew nothing except that we wanted to use our profits to help people.
You made it possible for us how to do what we were thinking about. We soon found that the community of Edmonton were wanting the same things we were. We call our business model and upside down business model because we do things the opposite of what we were taught to do when we were researching how to run a shop.
We are a success because of you, we are buier than we have ever been in this pandemic and we owe it all to you. We have had the opportunity to take a leap of faith and hired 3 new people in the last month, going into a month that is usually the slowest month in this business.
